Magnificent Haven Kiln Park Tenby

It is well worth making a journey to Haven, Kiln Park in the South of Tenby. This is one of the nicest sites we have been with our touring caravan. We did not even have to drive much as everything was within easy walking distance. If you would like to know more about this trip then please read further…

Where is Haven Kiln Park?

It is situated in the South of Wales right on the main beach in Tenby. Kiln Park Holiday Centre, Marsh Road, Tenby SA70 7RB

Boat trips around Tenby waters.

If you take a walk through Tenby town down to the harbour you will find a selection of kiosks all offering boat trips. In fine weather you should book in advance or be down at the kiosk bright and early. Refer to the internet for sailing times and prices as they change due to weather and season.

  • Tenby Boat trips offer visits to view the wildlife around the Caldey and St Margarets islands. They also have an adventure explore of Lundy Island.
  • Tenby Sea cruises off trips to Caldey Island itself. This is the trip we opted for. They sail Monday to Saturday from April to October, weather permitting.

Our trip to Caldey Island one of Britain’s holy islands.

To reach the Tenby harbour you walk along the beach from Haven Kiln Park to the town. Make your way through the shopping precinct till you get to the Harbour. The boat leaves from the harbour every 30 mins.

  • The island is run by and inhabited by the Cistercian Monks of Caldey.
  • There are plenty of picnic places, a gift shop and toilets.
  • It is a quiet place with lots of things to see including a light house and an awesome coastline.
  • There is a historic priory and some medieval churches which you can visit.
  • They have a visitor’s exhibition which shows the history of the island.
  • Prayers are held every day and you can join in if you want to.
  • On the island the monks make chocolates and fudge, these items are available to buy.
  • You can purchase food and other things from the visitor village.
  • Dogs on leads are allowed and the boat crossing takes around 20 – 25mins.

My review for the touring site at Haven Kiln Park.

Pro’s

  • Clean toilets and showers, bright and cheerful colours.
  • Site kept clean and garden beds neat and tidy.
  • Great convenience store where you can purchase groceries.
  • Loads of activities for the children including heated pools.
  • Direct beach access.
  • Large hardstanding touring pitch with services, plenty of awning space.
  • Buses within easy distance to take you to town.

Con’s

There are no con’s for us, this is a great site with everything going for it.

There are a few parks rules you should be aware of. They do not allow pup tents or sleeping in awnings. They are also not in favour of awnings with annexes and gazebos.
